LIFE
Ever since I can remember my dad has always been the biggest sports fan. He might not be able to tell you what he had for dinner 5 minutes ago ,but he can tell you who won the 1987 world series or the 1971 super bowl. Even who played 3rd base for any team, any year. The man knows his sports. He's always said he wants to go see a select number of baseball stadiums. For the past couple months i've looked up multiple times different ones to take him to and the prices were out of my budget. This past month I started doing a ton of research on how to get the cheapest flights, places to stay, and ball on a budget. The other night I saw Chicago was the 2nd cheapest place to fly to from Atlanta (where we are) and of course I couldn't stop myself from planning a trip to take him to see the Wrigley. I'll make a whole post soon on all my secrets I used to be able to go on this trip for under $500 (that's for both of us together! You heard that right.) I used a ton of ways to save money on this trip that I would love to share! Anyways I planned the trip and couldn't hold it in for 24 hours so now the planning to surprise him began.
I knew the best way to get him was at work. He would never expect it. I decided to make this box and place a few items inside that related to Chicago and baseball. I walked into his work without the box or balloons to make sure he wasn't in his office. (I asked what his plans were at work for the day when he was on his lunch break. He said he had a meeting at 1:15) I walked in and a worker recognized me as his daughter and said he was on his way down. Needless to say I ran to car and back, ripped open the bags holding the balloons. I found a hiding spot behind a door and the man took 30 MINUTES TO COME DOWN. He finally came down and for a minute thought we were going to just the Braves stadium since I had talked about buying cubs tickets. NO BOY WE ARE GOING TO CHICAGO. It just so happens the day I booked the trip for is the weekend they play the Braves (I think it was meant to be.)
I've already started planning all the site seeing we are going to do while we're there. All I want is to try one of Chicago's famous hot dogs. I can't wait to document our trip on here and my Youtube channel. I'll also have his reaction video of when he found the box up on my channel this week as well so be sure to check that out!
See you soon Chicago, Abbey
